Ten Three

Introduction

Ten Three is an in-house app design built around one repeatable rhythm: Ten and Three. The project was created to keep focus sessions and short resets visible without settings overload, presets, or extra tracking.

Project Overview

Ten Three was designed as a lightweight timer experience for Apple platforms. The app, product page, support content, and privacy messaging all work together around the same core idea: speed, calm, and clarity.

Objectives

  • In-house app design
    • Shape the timer around one repeating flow: Ten, then Three.
    • Make it easy to start either phase, pause when needed, and switch directly between states.
  • Minimal interface system
    • Remove extra setup screens, presets, and tracking that distract from the main task.
    • Keep the UI calm enough to support repeat use throughout the day.
  • Supporting product surfaces
    • Create a focused landing page, support page, and privacy content that match the app's simple tone.

Design & Development Highlights

  • Two-phase interaction model: Ten Three is built around a direct Ten/Three switch so users can move into the next state without configuration friction.
  • Clear product language: The app copy, support guidance, and privacy messaging explain the product in plain language and reinforce how lightweight the experience is.
  • Consistency across touchpoints: The interface, website presentation, and support pages share the same minimal visual direction, helping the app feel cohesive as an in-house product.

Reflection & Takeaways

Ten Three shows how an in-house app can stay intentionally small while still feeling complete. By limiting the feature set and designing every touchpoint around the same rhythm, the project reflects Brave New Design's approach to product design: reduce friction, clarify the experience, and make the essential action obvious.
